What most consumer doesn't realize is Smart Phones are actaully expensive gadgets. The average device cost over $500 per handset to purchase without a contract.
Well you may argue "Wait! TV promos to be $99 with 2 years service subscription and I never saw them costing over $150 per handset!"
All major carriers subsidizes bulk of the cost for a smartphone to a level you could afford. Another words, they are literally giving you the device for FREE.... Now you understand why they are charging you an ARM & a LEG for these data service. Not mentioning the hefty contract breaking penalities they enforce when you want to leave.
You may want to think again about the "Cheap" smart phones on your hand...!
